Good to Go is curated by the editors of Wanderlust, a UK-based travel brand. The list highlights destination that offer the most meaningful, responsible and story-rich travel experiences in the year ahead.
Tobago’s inclusion on the list is unbiased recognition of the island’s natural beauty. It also opens up the conversation about the Main Ridge Forest Reserve. The reserve is the oldest legally protected forest reserve in the world established for conservation purposes. This protected area has benefitted from legislation that was enacted in 1776 – 250 years ago.
Main Ridge is located in the UNESCO-designated North-East Tobago Biosphere Reserve. It is home to over 660 plant species, 128 bird species, 37 mammals and 22 nonvenomous snakes, some of which indigenous to Tobago. The Reserve is a must-see for birdwatching, wildlife and trekking visitors.
