Caribbean tourism leaders will convene on multi-sector sustainability in Belize at the Caribbean Conference on Sustainable Tourism Development (STC 2026). The four-day forum will take place from 27 April to 30 April 2026. THe venue is Caribeville, in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize.
The event will focus on the theme “Tourism in Full Color: Integrating Blue, Green, Orange and Beyond Economies into Sustainable Planning and Development.” This framework will promote coordinated planning across marine, land-based, cultural and social dimensions of the visitor economy.
Dona Regis-Prosper, CTO’s Secretary-General and CEO, says that “STC 2026 reflects the Caribbean’s commitment to reimagining tourism as a powerful driver of inclusive growth, climate resilience and cultural vitality.” She says that this approach will “encourage destinations to move beyond fragmented planning and instead adopt integrated models that balance environmental stewardship, cultural identity, community well-being and economic opportunity.”
Anthony Mahler, Belize’s Minister of Tourism, Youth, Sports and Diaspora Relations stated that his country was honored to host the 2026 SOTC. “This conference underscores Belize’s commitment to sustainable tourism and reinforces our role as a catalyst for innovation and responsible growth in the Caribbean. STC 2026 will serve as a dynamic platform for bold ideas and strategic partnerships. I invite industry partners and policymakers to join us as we help shape a sustainable future for Caribbean tourism.”
The four-day conference will emphasize practical, cross-cutting outcomes rather than isolated initiatives. Sessions will pair high-level ministerial dialogue with expert plenaries, technical breakouts and master classes. There will also be on-the-ground site visits to showcase replicable practices in sustainable operations, community engagement and climate adaptation.
