Passengers travelling to Cuba must complete a digital passenger entry form before arrival on the island. The D’VIAJEROS form is a digital customs declaration form that allows entry into Cuba. D’VIAJEROS is a process that facilitates the transit of passengers to and through Cuba. One of its aims is to speed up procedures at the various points of entry in the country.

Benefits of the D’VIAJEROS Process

The D’VIAJEROS process provides several benefits to travelers. Overall, there is a better travel experience when going through immigration, health and customs services. Travelers will:

  1. Contribute to sanitary controls at the island’s borders. This includes the prevention of contagious diseases including COVID-19.
  2. Receive expedited services at airport terminals
  3. Have reduced contact and document exchanges with port authorities
  4. Receive customized treatment for their needs during arrival
  5. Have access to tourist and government services whilst in Cuba.

How to Complete the Form

The form, which went into effect in November 2021, must be completed by all travelers including children, residents, citizens and visitors who enter Cuba via its airports. Travelers must complete the following sections on the form:

  1. General Information for the Traveler
  2. Immigration Information
  3. Customs Information
  4. Sanitary Information

General Travel Information for Travelers

Travelers to Cuba, should be aware of the island’s entry requirements.

Allowable Items

The following items can be imported into Cuba:

  • Personal effects, which will not pay customs duties.
  • New and used items up to the authorized value limit of one thousand (1,000) pesos

Prohibited Items

The following items cannot be imported into Cuba:

  • Psychotropic or hallucinogenic substances.
  • Precursor substances.
  • Explosives.
  • Hemoderivatives.
  • Drugs and narcotics.
  • Literature, items and objects that are obscene or pornographic or that violate the general interests of the nation.
  • Products of animal origin (bovines, pigs, sheep, goats and all species of ungulates) that are susceptible to being carriers of diseases.
